Chronicle Part 4 – A New Era of Independence, Innovation & Global Presence
Chronicle Part 4 – A New Era of Independence, Innovation & Global Presence
From 2000 to 2025, Theysohn entered a new chapter shaped by strategic ownership changes, international growth, and technological realignment.
In 2003, Rudolf Zahradnik, Siegfried Topf, and Sven Wolf acquired the Austrian companies of the Theysohn Group via an asset deal, marking the beginning of a new independent era. Global expansion followed quickly: in 2004, Theysohn India and Theysohn Russia were founded, and by 2007, a joint venture in China had been launched.
Over the next decade, ownership evolved—from the takeover by High Tech Industries AG in 2008 to the management buyout in 2014 by MUT Holding (Michael Döring, Uwe Langanke, and Torsten Grosser), who led the company into a more focused and agile future.
Production and engineering were restructured: in 2016, assembly was consolidated in Germany, while technology, development, and sales of counter-rotating extruders moved to Stockerau, Austria. In 2017, a new facility was built in Pune, India, boosting local service and manufacturing capabilities.
In 2019, the company underwent a strategic realignment, unifying operations under Theysohn Extrusionstechnik GmbH Germany. And as we look to 2025, we celebrate not only our technological advances—such as TSK-Kaskade and counter-rotating extruders for North America—but also the people behind the brand.
This anniversary is a moment to say thank you — to our employees, partners, and customers. Together, we’ve made Theysohn a forward-thinking company built on tradition, innovation, and heart.
Chronicle Part 3 – International Expansion, Technological Milestones & Strategic Shifts
Between 1985 and 2000, Theysohn continued to grow dynamically, driven by bold decisions and cutting-edge innovation.
A major turning point came with the entry into co-rotating twin-screw extruder technology in 1986. The launch of the TSK series and the presentation of the TSK 045 at the K Trade Fair in Düsseldorf marked a key technological milestone. In 1987, Theysohn Holding acquired 100% of American Maplan Corporation (AMC), specializing the Salzgitter plant for the production of counter-rotating twin-screw extruders.
In 1988, Topf Kunststofftechnik became part of the Theysohn Group and relocated to Kirchdorf, Austria. The 1992 acquisition by VGT Industrie AG brought additional momentum, adding PVC window manufacturer Plus Plan (Germany and UK) to the group.
The 1990s were a period of strategic transformation. In 1994, AMC and its bimetallic technology were sold. By 1999, Topf Kunststofftechnik became a 100% subsidiary, and the company founded Vinyl Extrusion Technologies in Fort Worth, Texas.
In 2000, Theysohn exited its injection molding operations in Salzgitter and Langenhagen, as well as its involvement with INOEX – a clear shift toward a focused extrusion technology strategy.
